Papa Westray famously forms one half of the shortest scheduled airline service in the world. The flight between here and nearby Westray, mounted since 1967 by Loganair as part of its inter-island service, is set at two minutes but normally achieved in nearly half that time or occasionally even less, depending upon the direction of the wind. The novelty of this particular flight has seen it prove remarkably popular with tourists.
The following organisations are either based at, use and/or have at least potentially significant connections with the airfield (as at 01/09/2011):
- Papa Westray Community Council
Main unit(s) present:
- Loganair
